Fan fails to charm
Kathmandu
If you are a fan of Shah Rukh Khan and have been desperately waiting to watch his latest movie Fan, then there is no need to be overexcited as the film doesn’t entertain you. Rather the unclear camera techniques on the characters, and the cat-and-mouse chase of the characters bore you.
The movie depicts a story of a Delhi-based youth Gaurav Chandna (Shah Rukh Khan). He is a fan of superstar Aryan Khanna (Shah Rukh Khan). He is so fond of the actor that the walls of Gaurav’s room are filled with cut outs of Aryan’s photographs. Like any other die hard fans of a superstar, Gaurav too wants to meet Aryan. Will he meet his superstar? If yes, what happens next?
Well if you are looking for a serious and a powerful movie from Khan, Fan is a disappointment for the actor’s fans. Khan in the double role — of a fan and a superstar doesn’t charm you. As the superstar Aryan, he has presented himself in an arrogant role but in the role of Gaurav, Khan has overdone the character of a youth. The protruding teeth of Gaurav to make a difference in the looks between the characters aren’t that appealing.
Director Maneesh Sharma has not been able to bring out the best from the superstar Khan. Had the director been able to bring out Khan’s best acting, and narrated the story of a fan and his hero without dragging it, it would have been definitely a good movie.
However, Shriya Pilgaonkar as Neha, friend of Gaurav has shown her brilliant skills even as a debutant. Her charming face, fluent dialogue delivery and confident acting skills charm the audience.
