Fisher to pen Star Wars experience

LONDON: Carrie Fisher is planning to open up about filming Star Wars as a young actress in a new book.

The American star, 59, recently came across diaries she kept while shooting the 1977 movie, and she’s planning to turn them into a new book about her time on the set, reported Contactmusic.

“(I was) 19 years old (when I was filming). It was very calming for me... I confided with my hand to paper,” she said.

Fisher is reprising her role as Princess Leia in the hotly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, but she admits her return to the franchise hasn’t been without controversy.

“They don’t want to hire all of me — only about three-quarters,” she said.

“Nothing changes, it’s an appearance-driven thing. I’m in a business where the only thing that matters is weight and appearance. That is so messed up. They might as well say, ‘Get younger’, because that’s how easy it is.”
