Flisar’s book released
Kathmandu:
One of the most distinguished story writers, novelist, playwright of Slovenia Evald Flisar launched his latest collection of stories about Nepal and India titled The Price of Heaven and his translation of Yuyutsu RD Sharma’s poetry collection The Lake Fewa and a Horse (Jezero Fewa & Konj) at Nepal Tourism Board on February 24. Talking about his inspiration to write Flisar said, “You want to explain the world to yourself and you do it through your stories. And because writing is very satisfactory.” He writes about anything that fascinates him and intrigues him, “When your are travelling you have so many impression piling up. So, when you get back home and try to sort it out by writing. It’s a kind of therapy.”
Talking about his visit to Nepal he said that is has drastically changed since the last time he had visited in 1974.
Describing Flisar’s works Sharma talked about how the author had been able to understand the Nepali psyche and though written on his visit almost two decades back the undercurrent of the Nepali society and the way Nepalis think still holds strong in Flisar’s works. Along with the release of the books some Nepali poets also recited their works. The programme was organised by White Lotus Book Shop .
