KATHMANDU: Another Pakistani band is going to rock the Capital this weekend. Two gigs with Jal are planned on December 15 at Hyatt Regency, and on December 16 at Tundikhel.

Jal perhaps needs no introduction — founded in 2002 in Lahore, Jal are Goher Mumtaz, Shazi (Amir) and Farhan Saeed Butt.

It is one of South East Asia’s top musical bands with numbers like Woh lamhe, Adat, Har jaga hai jal among others to its credit. Jal won four awards at the second Indus Music Jazz Awards, the Best Pop Group award at Sahara One Sangeet Awards in US last year, the Best Artist in MTV Asia Awards 2006. Our own bands 1974 AD and X-Mantra will be opening for Jal.

The concert is managed by Rings Entertainment Pvt Ltd, and presented by Kathmandu Mall, in association with Mc Dowell’s No 1 Whisky and Plantain IIFT.
