Ghanachakkar goes for second print

Kathmandu:

Academician Dr Sanjeev Uprety’s novel Ghannachakkar had topped the list of Nepali best-sellers for the year 2007. Now, due to a growing demand from booklovers, the book is out on the second print and will soon hit the stores.

“In the first run we had printed 3000 copies and an additional 2000 has been printed now to meet the growing demand for the book,” informed Kiran Shrestha, representative of nepa~laya, which is the book’s publisher.

“Ghanachakkar’s new approach has generated curiosity among the readers. It’s now a popular name among the Nepali book lovers,” added Ishwor Shrestha of the Educational Book House, the book’s distributor.

The book was released on October 2, 2007 at Sanishchare School, Jhapa, where Uprety received his elementary education.

The writer too is not less happy with the remarkable response for his novel. Said the English Literature professor at the Tribhuvan University, “I am overwhelmed by the response the book has been able to generate. I thank everyone for supporting my work.” The book’s English version is also coming out soon.
