Grant to quit while he’s still top dog

LONDON: British actor Hugh Grant is keen on leaving acting while he is still on top and says he will never overstay his welcome. He would rather leave acting completely than appear in mediocre films, which would devalue his legacy.

The actor told contactmusic.com, “You have to try and get out on top when, relatively speaking, you’re still at the top. And once you’re out, have some other things that give you self-esteem. I’d hate to decline through worse and worse films.”

He added, “But if you give up while you’re still doing some relatively all-right films, that has some dignity. It’s what Audrey Hepburn has done and I’ve pretty much based my entire career on her.”
