SRK, not Ajay, in Johar film
MUMBAI: Ignore all the careless whispers about Karan Johar signing Ajay Devgan for his next film. Ajay had been approached by the Johars for a song-less thriller to be directed by Karan’s assistant Soham Shah. But Karan himself is planning an epic period film with his favourite Shah Rukh Khan.Shah Rukh reserved his dates for the project from November. Before that he’ll complete Yash Chopra’s underproduction film and Ashutosh Gowariker’s Swades.Interestingly Karan’s next project seems to be the third of Shah Rukh’s period movie trilogy after Devdas and Yash Chopra’s next film. Remember his bad-man trilogy Baazigar, Darr and Anjaam in the 1990s?
Jayaprada returns to screen
MUMBAI: After Dimple Kapadia bonded with a much younger man in Dil Chahta Hai and Leela, and Deepti Naval and Manisha Koirala were paired with boys in Freaky Chakra and Ek Chhotisi Love Story respectively, the theme seems to be back in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Deh.
Jayaprada plays the boldest role of her career in the film as a woman who breaks out of a bad marriage and has a relationship with a much younger man, played by Dino Morea.
Dino is over the moon. “Not only do I get to serenade one of the most beautiful actresses of this country, I also get to play one of the most challenging roles of my career. Working with Mahesh is a pleasure,” he says.

Bipasha, Amrita hit off
MUMBAI: Guess who is Bipasha’s latest pal! None other than Amrita Arora. The duo apparently had a great time while shooting for Suniel Shetty’s Rakht. “Amrita and I got along very well. In fact, we hit off instantly. I have found a new friend in her,” Bipasha said. This is the first time that Amrita and Bipasha have come together for the film. Bipasha Basu is playing a Tarot reader in the film. “So all the naach gaana is being done by Amrita Arora. She is good! Here is one girl to watch out for,” she said.
