Govinda’s Sukh in Seva
MUMBAI: Well, we had just reported how Govinda completed the shooting of Sukh in 27 days flat and will soon begin the post-production work of the film. But even before Sukh hits the theatres, the actor-turned-producer-turned-scriptwriter will soon launch his second film called Seva.
Ask him about Seva and Govinda isn’t ready to divulge anything about the subject except that this is one more script that he has written. He also clarifies that, “Sukh is no way similar to Aankhen. The story is different. It is after a long time that I’m working with Chunkey Pandey and Kirti Kumar. Both have been lucky for me. Both have given me Sukh,” he laughs.
Big B, Lara in Just Punjabi
MUMBAI: Last year, it was reported that producer Bunty Walia had signed Sanjay Dutt to head the cast of Just Punjabi, to be directed by Apoorva Lakhia (Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost). Here’s more on the project.
Two more stars have been incorporated to the cast of Just Punjabi — Amitabh Bachchan and Lara Dutta. “Mr Bachchan has confirmed in principle, but we’ve to work out the modalities like dates and money,” Bunty tells. Lara, who had worked with Apoorva in Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost, is the leading lady.
The film will have two songs by RDB (Rhythm Dhol and Bass), the Bradford-based Bhangra group (a household name in UK), while the remaining tracks will be tuned by Anand Raaj Anand.
The film will be launched at the forthcoming IIFA Awards, to be held in April. However,
Bunty is tight-lipped when it comes to revealing the details of the launch. “It’ll be something to look forward to. Wait and watch,” he smiles.
Just Punjabi tells the story of a cop (Sanju baba), a lovable character, who travels from India to Canada and his experiences on the foreign soil.
Kashmira plays ragamuffin
MUMBAI: Kashmira Shah has sizzled in many an item numbers but that did not get her anywhere in the industry. When her career failed to take off, Kashmira preferred to settle down to matrimony. But she is back facing the camera. For better or worse. Apparently in one of the films titled Revati, Kashmira Shah is playing a rag picker whose only ambition in life is to cover her body and take a bath everyday in the morning. To get the feel of the character Kashmira met a real life rag picker. “I tried to imbibe her mannerisms. The way she walked and talked and spoke ‘gaaliyans’ (foul words). It is one character to watch out for,” she said.
Besides Revati, she has Mahesh Bhatt’s Zaroorat, Irfan Hasmi’s Tauba Tauba and Ishq Qayamat.
