MUMBAI: Deepika Padukone, who plays a tomboy in director Pradeep Sarkar’s Lafange Parindey, showed her daredevil side, much to the amazement of the crew and co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh.

According to sources, the sequence involved both Padukone and Mukesh to fall into a deep muddy pit. She turned down the suggestion to use a body double.

“Everyone in the unit thought it was too dangerous because Padukone had to walk straight into the pit and fall into the swirling muddy water. Once she fell in the pit only professional divers could help her come out. That’s how deep the hole in the ground was”, revealed sources further. But being a true sport, the girl went ahead with the risky stunt and said to have given a fine shot.
