He read AP, now he’s flying to P’pines

Kathmandu:

It was in late July that the campaign for Annapurna Post, one of the leading vernacular dailies began. The slogan ‘Ke tapai le Annapurana Post padhnu bhayo’ took the country by storm. Soon people in Nepal were reading Annapurna Post like it was their Bible and looking forward to answering questions for the campaign.

The campaign, which started on July 25, came to an end on September 15, 2005. More than 50,000 people all over Nepal participated in the contest. Almost 1,182 people gave the right answer.

The lucky draw for the campaign was held at APCA house premises on March 10. Arjun Sharma, managing director of Shiv travels, Shree Acharya, managing editor of Annapurna Post, Sudeep Thapa, managing director of ANS creation, Rupak Shrestha, business development manager of ANS, CU Anand, COO of APCA Nepal, attended the function.

The name of the people who gave in the right answer had been pooled together and Arjun Sharma did the honours. Sachin Timilsina of Banepa was picked the winner from a lucky draw. Timilsina wins a free trip for two to Philippines.

The guests signed on the paper below the name of the winner.
