Heigl wanted 'ridiculous' pay

HOLLYWOOD: Despite her efforts to become a big-screen star, "Grey's Anatomy" actress Katherine Heigl has been dropped from a major romantic comedy.

Heigl is no longer being considered for "Valentine's Day," a big-budget project with an all-star cast, after she demanded too much money, according to the New York Post.

"[Producers] wanted her for the project, but during the talks, she came back demanding $3 million for the role," a source reportedly said, adding that the amount was "ridiculous" and none of the other top-notch stars asked for nearly as much.

Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Shirley MacLaine and Bradley Cooper are among those attached to the movie, which is expected to open in February 2011.

Heigl's spokesperson said the story was "ludicrous," and the actress walked away from the film for several reasons.
