The cold days are perfect for lip-smacking, hot food from different places. And Shangri La Hotel is all ready to cater to your winter palate with their Tibetan hot pot and different kinds of tea.

Gyakok and hi-tea

If you love your soup hot and filling, then try the gyakok at Shambala Garden Café at the hotel. Starting from November 19, gyakok or the Tibetan hot pot is well known for its assortment of vegetables, meat and noodles. The soup consists of bokchoy (Chinese spinach) with sesame, sautéed mushroom, shredded pork, diced chicken, cashew nuts and is served with noodles, rice (plain or fried), momo, T-momo and cucumber salad. Gyakok is priced Rs 550 per person, and is served to at least two persons.

From November 25, the hotel will also be serving Hi-tea. You will have a range of teas to choose from — Sri Lankan, Indian, jasmine and herbal, which can be ordered according to your choice.

Savouries like veg/non-veg patties, veg/ non-veg sandwiches, pastries and goodies will be served. Hi tea per person is priced Rs 350 (net).

Gyakok and hi-tea will be served for at least two months.

Thanksgiving

The hotel has also planned Thanksgiving Day lunch and dinner for November 22 and 23. A four-course meal of salad, soup, main course and dessert will make sure that

this Thanksgiving Day is delicious. The main course consists of portion of stuffed turkey

with gravy, chicken, lamb and vegetable with a complimentary glass of wine. As for dessert, they have the traditional pumpkin pie.

Lunch and dinner is priced Rs 1,500 (net) per person. — HNS
