Houston Denies voice problems at comeback gig

LONDIN: Whitney Houston has denied she suffered problems with her voice during her comeback gig in New York City - dismissing rumours she cut the concert short due to a vocal strain.

The R&B diva thrilled fans in Central Park on Tuesday morning (01Sep09) by taking to the stage to tape a performance for U.S. TV programme Good Morning America.

But the show was marred by reports the star couldn't manage her famed high notes, as she turned the mic on the audience during the crucial moments of her hit I'm Every Woman.

Houston also performed several tracks from her new album I Look To You, her first new record in seven years, but was rumoured to have cut her set short because of vocal problems.

However, a representative for the star has hit back at the reports - insisting Houston was only booked to sing two tracks.

The rep tells TMZ.com, "She was only ever committed to two songs, so she actually extended the show to the third and fourth songs."
