MUMBAI: Hema Malini, the original Dream Girl of Bollywood, may heave a sigh of relief as five thieves — Vinod Sahi, Manoj Sahi, Thapendra Sahi, Mann Bahadur Sahi and Vir Bahadur Batala — have been arrested by police and Rs 11 lakh recovered from them.

The police are still looking for three more persons who were also involved with the crime at the actor’s Dindoshi house involving the disappearances of Rs 84 lakh worth of jewellery and cash. A significant thing about these five arrested persons are that they all had connections with Nepal and were working in Mumbai, Dombivali and Pune as security guards with various organisations or housing societies.

While Vir Batala, who works as guard in Goregaon area, is said to have informed the culprits about Hema Malini’s Dindhoshi bungalow as possible target, it was the youngsters from Pune — Vinod and Manoj Sahi — who committed the theft after carefully observing the venue for some time. In the meantime, the search for — Umesh Sahi, Netra Sahi and Garak Sahi — is still on as they were also said to be involved.
