I’m not Tom Cruise, protests Law

LONDON:

Actor Jude Law has slammed Hollywood for trying to make him into a British Tom Cruise saying that he hates being portrayed as a “celebrity product”. According to contactmusic.com, Law rose in prominence after the hit movie The Talented Mr Ripley but insists that he only wants to be respected as an actor. He says: “There’s a period when it’s all starting and you feel absolutely in control. Then suddenly the way people see you becomes like they’re seeing a product, a separate entity and you name is a brand. That’s when you lose control. I’m not Tom Cruise. Very few British actors are. If you look at the body of work I’ve done it’s pretty obvious I’m not going to make a Mission Impossible.”
