In memory of late Swayze
LONDON: A scholarship in honour of late Patrick Swayze has been launched by an American riding institution.
The Dirty Dancing star, along with wife Lisa Niemi, was a keen equestrian prior to his death in September 9, and officials at the Arabian Horse Foundation have established a programme to remember the actor. The scholarship will be awarded each spring to a youngster involved with Arabian horses who seeks a performing arts career. Foundation President Larry Kinneer says it honours Swayze for his career and the couple’s “love of the Arabian breed and contributions over the years to such programmes.”
