Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi congratulates Nepali K2-summitters

KATHMANDU: Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has congratulated the Nepali team of mountaineers on their record K2-winter summit, on Monday.

Rahul Gandhi, who is the incumbent member of Indian Parliament, took to his twitter to appreciate the remarkable achievement of the Nepali climbers who had recently summitted the peak of world's second highest mountain K2 in Pakistan.

"Congratulations to the team and to Nepal. For the achievement and the superb attitude," Gandhi has tweeted, while also posting a video of the ascent, wherein the gutsy climbers are seen singing the Nepali national anthem.

At least 10 Nepali climbers had scripted history in mountain-climbing by making the first ever winter ascent of the world’s second highest peak on January 16, 2021.
