Indigenous film fest in June

KATHMANDU: The Indigenous Film Archive (IFA) is organising the ‘Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival’ from June 22 to 24. The festival will showcase films in indigenous language from Nepal and foreign countries.

According to Nabin Subba, filmmaker and president of IFA, the festival is being organised to provide a platform for indigenous language movies. At a press meet organised on April 12 he said, “The indigenous community has a rich story-telling heritage and it has not been presented as it should be. We want to provide a platform for filmmakers to bring their movies to both indigenous and non-indigenous audience.” Subba added filmmakers from different places would be able to interact and build a network at the festival.
