Jhapa’s Ghimire has prettiest bride

KATHMANDU:

A girl wants to look her best on her wedding day and often goes that extra mile to make sure she is the most beautiful girl among all. To celebrate this particular part of the most special day in a girl’s life Lakme and Saundarya Kala Byawasayi Sangh organised the Lakme Bridal Make up Competition on June 21 at Soaltee Crowne Plaza.

Thirty finalists showcased their brides belonging to five categories according to the cultural/ geographical categories namely Himalayan belt, Indigenous, Aryan, Newar and Tarai. From glamorous to traditional, from subtle to vibrant, the beauticians presented a variety of brides with their own personal touch given to the makeup. However, they did not forget to give the authentic touch of the category they were representing.

Rajesh Ghimire’s indigenous bride clad in green Benarasi sari was selected the most beautiful, while Reema Bajracharya took home the second prize for her bride who represented the Himalayan belt, and Nisha Shakya’s Newar bride won the third prize.

The show included performances by Nima Rumba, Mingma Sherpa and Auysha Karki and makeup demonstration by Kamala Shrestha. The judges for the event were Sneh Rana, Prajani Rana, Srijana Yonjan, Melina Manandhar and Rajesh Dhakwa.
