Jones gives up sitar dreams

LOS ANGELES: Norah Jones has given up on mastering the sitar because the instrument left her father RAVI SHANKAR with a twisted back.

The multiple Grammy Award winner has revealed she once took sitar lessons from half-sister Anoushka Shankar but quickly realised the instrument wasn't for her.

She says, "It was fun, but you have to twist your back all around. My dad and Anoushka both have twisted backs from playing so much. And you have to sit cross-legged. See, that ain't cool! I can't imagine doing a world tour cross-legged."
