LONDON:British singer-turned-reality-TV star KERRY KATONA is in trouble again she was arrested on suspicion of assault after allegedly throwing a cup of tea over her financial adviser and punching him.

The embattled former Atomic Kitten star was taken in for questioning by U.K. cops on Wednesday (26Aug09) following accusations of assault and criminal damage against accountant David MCHugh.

The allegations come just days after she was cautioned by police for possessing drugs following British tabloid the News of the World's expose, in which the publication published snaps of her snorting cocaine.

And things got worse for Katona after she stormed into MCHugh's office and reportedly hurled a cup of tea over him, before punching him and trashing the room.

A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "She had been through her accounts and was raging. She went to his office to speak to him and was screaming and kicking off. Then she punched him in the face.

"David started yelling back so she grabbed a cup of tea and threw it in his face and punched him in the chops (face) again for good measure."

The accountant immediately filed a complaint against the star and she was visited by police officers at her home in Wilmslow, north west England and arrested.

Katona was questioned before being released on bail.

A spokesperson for Cheshire police says, "At approximately 3.50pm this afternoon, Cheshire Police attended a premises following a report of an assault.

"A 28-year-old woman from the Wilmslow area has been arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and a public order offence."

It's the latest in a string of bad press for the MTV reality star in the last 12 months she has been declared bankrupt, threatened her husband Mark Croft with divorce and lost a lucrative deal with food retailer Iceland.
