KCM unmasks the face
KATHMANDU:
KCM’s annual drama was staged at the Rastriya Naach Ghar on November 28. The Mask and The Face written by Luigi Chiarelli revolved around the different relationships that people have, social prestige, infidelity and how an individual is affected by them all.
The students gave good performances especially Sajal Shrestha with his
natural flair and Amish Karki with his acting skills, along with the others. The stage was managed quite well with the props and lighting.
The other factor that was quite impressive and much effort has been put into was the dresses and look as they looked quite stylish and presentable. However, as the play was really lengthy, and with the long and with serious dialogues, it failed to capture the audiences’ attention throughout.
As it was mainly for an audience which mostly consisted of students the most appreciated parts were the humorous ones and injecting more comedy could have increased its appeal.
At times even the accent used was bit difficult to understand and the overall effect was lost due to this. — HNS
