London: Nicole Kidman’s mother says she would have rejected her for the role of witch Samantha in ‘Bewtiched’ - and chosen Reese Witherspoon instead. Kidman stars alongside Will Ferrell, Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine in the big screen adaptation of the classic TV comedy. Nicole spent hours practising Samantha’s famous nose wiggle while holidaying with her parents, but found her mother an unhelpfully negative distraction. She said: “I went on holiday with my family before I made ‘Bewitched’, and we watched old episodes while I practised nose twitches in front of a mirror. “My mom said: ‘I don’t think you look very much like her. I think Reese Witherspoon looks more like her.’” — HNS
