KJC concert wows audience

KATHMANDU:

The fifth series of Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory (KJC) concert took place at Rato Bangla School auditorium on September 20. The auditorium was filled with jazz music fans including many expatriates. Indian classical music singer Shubha Mudgal and her husband sitar player Dr Aneesh Pradhan who are in town for a fund raising concert were also seen enjoying musical performances by Jazz students and teachers. Unlike other concerts of the series this time choir performance by the students of KJC made mark with their flawless presentation. Kristina Allen’s solo performance of This is me proved that ‘great things come in small packages’, watching the little girl strum the guitar and sing along was delightful.

The whole series was divided into various categories like Kids Class, Marloes Oudeman Voice studio, Jaco Van Dool piano/voice studio, Steve Wonder project and KJC Big Band. Evening indeed was a wonderful experience watching jazz musicians entertaining all with the varied choice of music and peppy songs. — HNS
