Korean film fest from Nov 12
KATHMANDU:
To welcome the season of harvest, culture and thoughts, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea is organising a five-day film festival, starting on November 12 at the Russian Culture Centre0, Kamal Pokhari.
According to a Korea embassy press release, the embassy endeavours to present Korean culture and lifestyle by show casing four films that have been super hits in Korea, receiving warm responses form the audience. The film festival is a followup of a traditional Korean music performance in BICC last year.
Ambassador Nam Sang-Jung attempts to promote mutual understanding and friendly relations between the two countries with the festival, as he believes films are comprehensive ways of reflecting thoughts and cultural values, states the press release.
The festival will be inaugurated on November 12 with the screening of the movie Joint Security Area. Entry to the first screening is by invitation only.
There will be two shows daily — one at 11:00 am and the other at 2:00 pm. Entry to the screenings is free.
