Legendary Bollywood actor Sridevi no more

KATHMANDU: Legendary Bollywood actor Sridevi Kapoor, fondly known as Sridev , passed away in Dubai on Saturday night. She was 54.

The actress suffered a major cardiac arrest and breathed her last on Saturday night. The veteran actor was attending her nephew's wedding along with her family members in Dubai.

The superstar's brother-in-law, actor Sanjay Kapoor confirmed the news of her death stating it had happened roughly around 11-11:30 on Saturday night.

The actress had made her Bollywood debut as a child artist in 1975 with the movie Julie. Her most iconic movies include Chandani, Mr India, Mawali, Nagina and English Vinglish among others.

In 2013, the Indian government had honoured Sridevi with the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour.

Her last movie would be 'Zero', which is yet to release. In the movie, she has shared screen space with various other actors including Shah Rukh Khan.

Meanwhile, various personalities have expressed their condolences on social media over the demise of the actor. The President and the Prime Minister of India too have expressed their condolences on twitter.
