Lohan hails her fashion line
LONDON: Lindsay Lohan has defied her fashion critics - her controversial clothing collection has been hailed a commercial success.
The actress designed a line for French fashion house Emanuel Ungaro, but her creations were mauled by the critics when they hit the runway in September (09), with style bible Women's Wear Daily calling the collection "an embarrassment".
The company's founder Emanuel Ungaro, who is no longer involved with the firm, also slammed Lohan's designs, labelling the show a "disaster".
Bosses at the fashion house have stood by Lohan, insisting she will return to design another collection for the brand. And now company president Mounir Moufarrige has now spoken out about the controversy surrounding the star - revealing her designs have been flying off the shop shelves.
He tells Reuters, "Yes (she’s staying on), she has a job to do. The criticism was harsh. I am sure we can do better in the collection, to be honest. But it did sell well."
