Lonely at the top

LONDON:

Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep alienated herself from other cast mates on the set of the new movie The Devil Wears Prada so she could perfect her role.

According to contactmusic.com, Streep plays an ice queen persona in the film. She plays fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly and set her self aside from other actors just as her character does. Streep said: “(Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt) were always having a party in the corner, and I couldn’t join in. It was a lonely position that I staked out for myself.”

Hathaway added: “She really isolated herself from the rest of us. It wasn’t method acting... She warned me about that in the beginning. She said, ‘I think you’re going to be great, but this is the last nice thing I’m going to say to you.’ And it was.” — HNS
