In a build up to the Lux Beauty Star Selection, Lux in association with IEC carried out the selection in Dharan on April 17, at the British Gorkha Community Hall. With 25 participants, the competition was a huge success with a vibrant ambience and stunning lights and special effects to add to the brilliantly done stage. To decide on five contestants among the beautiful participants was not easy for the judges, Shailaja and Venkatesh who decided on the basis of looks, confidence and intelligence.

The five to be chosen were Shrijana Limbu, Sampanata Pradhan, Ayesha Basnet, Suchitra Acharya and Madhu Bhattarai, who were all handed an invitation letter to participate in the Lux Beauty Star Contest at Kathmandu, scheduled to start from May 12. A total of 20 girls will have the opportunity to practice with a choreographer and designer in preparation for the

grand finale and walk the ramp at Hyatt Regency. The Lux Beauty Star and runner-up will be announced at the same event with the winner bagging Rs 50,000 and the runner-up taking away Rs 25,000. Besides, the two winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Lakme India Fashion week.
