MUMBAI: Here’s the latest on the Dhanush-starrer Maapillai. Our Kollywood sources say that Manisha Koirala (yes, the same lass who played heroine to Superstar Rajinikanth in Baba) will be playing the crucial mother-in-law character in the film!

Says Dhanush, “I think Manisha Koirala will be playing my mother-in-law in the film. I will confirm it once the dates are cleared.”

If it does happen, it will mark Manisha’s comeback to Tamil films after a long time. Introduced to Tamil films by Mani Ratnam in Bombay, the pretty actress has acted in superhit films like Indian and Mudhalvan. Manisha, we understand, is currently in Nepal and will start shoot for Maapillai in February if things work out as planned.
