Mariah to play Hudgens mother in new film
NEW YORK: Mariah Carey is reportedly in talks to play the mother of High School Musicalactress Vanessa Hudgens in a new movie.
According to Showbizspy.com, the 40-year-old singer is set to team up with Hudgens, 21, for a comedy flick based around an X-Factor and American Idol type show.
"Mariah is eager to capitalize on her acclaimed performance in 'Precious' with another movie," the New York Daily News quoted a source as telling the Web site.
"There is one project where she would play one half of a mother and daughter singing duo who audition for a TV talent show.
"Vanessa Hudgens has already been approached for the daughter role.
"The only sticking point seems to be whether Mariah feels comfortable playing mom to a teenager. She's a little sensitive when it comes to her age, the source added.
