Nagarjun Sahitya Pratisthan awards for four literary figures

The Nagarjun Sahitya Pratisthan (NSP) on August 4 presented awards to four Nepali literary figures under different categories.

At a programme organised at Gurukul to mark its anniversary, NSP awarded the Nagarjun Vishesh Samman to poet Purna Biram. Littérateur Dharmendra Bihwal was awarded Nagarjun Prakashan Puraskar for his book Kaushal Ka Parihas. Krishna Shah ‘Yatri’ who wrote the treatise Rangmanch Ma Naari received the Nagarjun Yearly Creation Prize. Binod Bikram KC was awarded the Shubhprabhat Kavya Samman.

The awards were presented by littérateur Bairagi Kainla.

Speaking on the occasion, littérateur Bihwal said he respected the national language — Nepali though his mother tongue is different. He added that the award was a challenge for new creations.

Janata Ajeya Chhan, Loktantra Amar Chha, a book written by Chaturbhuj Atreya was also released. Bairagi Kainla, Pradip Gyawali, Ninu Chapagain, Hari Govind Luintel, Sudha Tripathi and Dahal Yagyanidhi among others expressed their views on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the annual general meeting of NSP elected a new body under the chairmanship of Prakash Silwal. Gauri Dahal, Madhav Nirdos, Yashoda Adhikari, Shivhari Pandey are vice chairman, general secretary, secretary and treasurer of the new committee respectively.
