Nepathya enthralls audience at 'O2 Academy Brixton' concert
KATHMANDU: Nepal's premier folk-rock band, Nepathya, captivated the audience with its folk-rock music genre at the 'O2 Academy Brixton' in London on Saturday.
Earlier, Nepathya had performed at the historic Wembley Arena five years ago and returned to perform at the O2 Academy Brixton since enthralling the crowd at the same venue three years ago.
The show kicked-off with Nepathya's song Kuroop Anuhar and proceeded with band's evergreen hit numbers Bheda ko Oon Jasto, Jomsom Bazaar Ma, Chhekyo Chhekyo among others.
The band also performed new releases like Siffula, Palla Ghar, Aaganai Bhari live for the first time in London, Nepathya said.
"It is overwhelming to get such love and support from our audience wherever we go," said Nepathya front-man Amrit Gurung. "When we feel such love from the audience, our 25 year-long musical journey seems worthwhile."
After the UK show, the band will return home to perform a show in Swayambhu later this month. "Swayambhu is home to our drummer Dhruba, we will dedicate the show to him," Gurung added.
"I am glad the band agreed to perform at Swayambhu," said Nepathya drummer Dhruba Lama.
Swayambhu club has undertaken the responsibility and will use the proceedings for the preservation of heritage here, according to Lama.
The show in Swayambhu is slated for September 29, the statement reads.
Amrit is accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on 'madal'.
