Nepathya presents a spectrum of joy, sentiment, national awakening in Dubai
KATHMANDU: After four years, Nepathya, Nepal's premier folk-rock band, returned to Dubai and captivated full-house audiences at the Al Nasr Leisure Land, on Saturday.
The two-hour show was a combination of national sentiment and folk fusion. Band lead singer Amrit Gurung started the show with a patriotic song 'Hami Sabai Nepali' before performing other hit numbers.

The crowd got into a frenzy as the band played 'Resham', Taalko Pani' and the crowd got emotional with 'Yo Zindagani', 'Mai Mari Jaunla' and 'Koshiko Paani'.
As the show went on, Amrit Gurung, band's lead singer and social activist said, "In 2015, we had performed in Dubai amidst aftershocks, where we shared grief and raised funds for relief works. We are glad to come back and share joy with people here."
“The joy I could see in the faces spread over the hall was the most satisfying scene for me while performing. We are so lucky and thankful to have such loving listeners,” Amrit Gurung added.
Finally, a moment of national awakening and pride was celebrated with exuberance as the band played 'Gaun Gaun Bata Utha' and 'Rato Ra Chandara' before wrapping up the entertaining show.
Amrit was accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboard, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on madal.
