Nepathya to perform at ISF

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s popular band Nepathya has been invited to perform at the closing of this year’s India Social Forum (ISF), the Indian Chapter of the World Social Forum, in New Delhi, says a statement issued by nepa~laya.

Nepathya will be performing at the Jawalahar Lal Nehru Stadium on November 13. The theme for ISF, that began on November, is ‘Building another world: Visions for the future’ and focuses on engendering dialogue, optimism and hope, by creating a space that will enable a greater mobilisation of resources for an alternative future — within Asia and Africa. The spirit of ISF cultural performance is to learn, to enjoy and to be uplifted. “We are honoured to receive such an invitation to be part of the Forum,” the statement quoted Amrit Gurung, Nepathya frontman, as saying.

The WSF “an open meeting place for reflective thinkingby groups and movements of civil society opposed to neo-liberalism and to domination of the world by capital and any form of imperialism, and committed to building a society centred on the human person”.
