Nepathya to perform at 'O2 Academy Brixton' in London

KATHMANDU: After three years, Nepal's famous and beloved folk-rock band, Nepathya, is all set to perform again at the 'O2 Academy Brixton' in London on September 01.

O2 Academy Brixton is a reputed venue in London, where artists like Bob Dylon, Madonna, Iron Maiden, Sex Pistol, UB40, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, The Police, Wham among others have performed here.

Issuing a press statement today, Nepathya said, "Amidst a growing Nepali diaspora based in the UK, the band has always been welcomed with a warm gesture. Such gestures have been witnessed in both 2013 and 2015 shows at Wembley Arena and O2 Academy respectively."

"We expect the same affection this time around." Says Nepathya frontman Amrit Gurung. "This time too we will carry a message of love from Nepal to those living in the UK," he added.

Amirt will be accompanied on stage by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on guitars and Shanti Rayamajhi on madals.

Earlier, this year, Nepathya had a successful tour of the US, where they enthralled crowd in Dallas and Boston before performing at the prestigious Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan.

The show at O2 Academy Brixton is being organised by Debbre Events.
