KATHMANDU, JULY 30

Nepal's famous folk-rock band Nepathya is all set to perform in three cities across Japan in August.

Issuing a statement today, Nepalaya, the band's management company, said, "the band will kick-off its tour from Tokyo, then move to Fukuyama and conclude at Osaka City."

The band will start its Japan tour by performing at the 'Toyosu Pit' in Tokyo on August 8; 'Fukuoka Civic Hall' in Fukuoka on August 12, and 'Namba Hatch' in Osaka City on August 17.

Giving continuation of the band's slogan 'Music for Humanity' for the promotion of humanity campaign in 2023, Japan concert will move ahead under the same campaign.

The band's lead singer and social activist Amrit Gurung said, "We have many memories attached to Japan," Gurung said, adding the warm reception they received from the audience while performing at the Tokyo Dome a few years ago. "We have always received a warm welcome from the Japan audience whenever we have presented ourselves in various situations," lead singer Gurung added.

A 14-member entourage will leave for Japan in the first week of August to perform for the fourth time, reads the statement. Earlier, the band had toured the country in 1998, 2015, and 2018.

As usual, Amrit will be supported by Dhruba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on keyboards, Subin Shakya on bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on guitar, and Shanti Rayamajhi on madals.
