KATHMANDU:

One of the most looked-forward-to pre-Dashain events, the Changa Chait (Kite fesitval) has been cancelled this year too. This was stated in a September 25 press statement issued by Club Himalaya, the organisers of Changa Chait.

The Changa Chait had to be cancelled last year to “political disturbance”.

“We were very hopeful that after the peace process we would celebrate the Changa Chait 2064 in a grand manner on September 29, October 6 and 13. But with deep regret, we have to inform all our sponsors and corporate houses who have already registered and the enthusiasts of kite flying competition that we are compelled to call off this year’s Changa Chait as well,” states the release.

The organisers hope they will be able to hold the Chait next year. However, kite enthusiasts need not feel disappointed for the Club invites all on October 13 for a pre-Dashain kite flying adventure.
