Kathmandu, March 14:
Jack of all trades and yet master of all is Deepak SJB Rana. Pregnant with philosophy, his two books ‘Just Passing By’ and ‘The Bending Reed’ were launched by the Japanese ambassador, Zeinji Kaminaga today.
As there are very few Nepali authors writing in English, Deepak Rana’s novel will create a new dimension to writing English novels.
Introducing his books, Rana said that his novel ‘Just Passing By’ is the compilation of all his articles that were published in newspapers and magazines. His motive, he says, was to make sure the readers not just catches glimpse of his story but read it too.
His second novel, ‘The Bending Reed’, is woven with bits of historical facts and imagination. In this he has bought together India’s independence, fall of Rana rule and Dalai Lama’s escape from Tibet.
He said that he has divided his book into birth, life and death. Philosopher as he is, he emphasised on taking the ‘middle path’.
