KATHMANDU: The year 2005 saw nepa-laya initiated Paleti with Aavaas. This year — Paleti Shrinkhala — will be about music too, but with 12 different artistes of Nepali Adhunik who have made Nepali music proud.

This is not the only difference. Paleti Shrinkhala will alternately feature Nepali Adhunik artistes from Nepal and from Darjeeling and Sikkim.

The year’s series will kick off on January 27 with none other than Daisy Baraily. Daisy, as the name goes, is a tender flower in the world of Nepali Adhunik. Her vocals have the potential to grasp audience of all levels and put them in a melodious reverie. Her first studio recording dates back to some 25 years when she was in her early teens. Her performance at the Paleti is also to be her début solo performance.

She is currently based in Darjeeling.

Paleti happens every last Friday of the Georgian calendar at nepa-laya’s ‘r’sala at 6 pm.
