Paleti with Jangam

KATHMANDU:

This month’s edition of Paleti is scheduled for July 27 with the renowned musician Deepak Jangam.

Many Nepali music afficionados are familiar with Jangam’s compositions that have been

sung by many well-known singers including the veteran Pakistani ghazal singer Gulam

Ali. Jangam’s repertoire include ever green songs like Yeti dherai maya diyi, Jeevan hamro sanglo pani ho, Euta manchhe ko maya, Kina kina timro tasbir, Gajalu ti thula thula ankha, Ke chha ra diyun among many others.

Jangam has been involved in the field of music since the age of nine. He was also the chief manager of Ratna Recording Institute, which worked for the uplift of the Nepali music and has represented Nepali in various music seminars organised abroad. Currently a professor at Padma Kanya Campus, Jangam is also regarded equally efficicent in singing and writing songs though composition is his main subject. At Friday’s Paleti, Jangam will be presenting his compositions.
