Having rehearsed for over a week now, soulful singer Sangeeta Pradhan is all set to

cast her spell on the Paleti audiences at nepa-laya’s ‘r’sala, Kalikasthan, on November 30.

The Biratnagar-born Pradhan has sung many hits that include Jhajhalko Aauncha Jhajhalko, Kun Papile, Kina Ho Hajurlai and Ghumto Uthai. At Paleti, she will charm her audience by a number of popular numbers and songs in Thumari pattern. With a good boost from her mother Shantidevi, Pradhan took her musical trainings from Kolkata.

“I only wished to be a regular listener of the Paleti series. But when I was approached to give a performance instead, my happiness knew no bounds,” said Pradhan, who presently teaches at Nepal Fine Arts Campus. “Many of the listeners are not aware of my music. Through Paleti, I wish to forge good relations with them,” she added.

The Paleti musical series was started by nepa-laya three years back, and is held every last Friday of the Gregorian month. —HNS
