Penn in smoking row
NEW YORK: Oscar winning actor Sean Penn has caused controversy in Toronto after he flagrantly broke an anti-smoking law by lighting a cigarette at a pres conference in a hotel. According to pagesix.-com, Health Promotion Minister Jim Watson said: “It was such a flagrant breach of the law.” Michael Perly, the executive director of the Ontario Campaign for Action on Tobacco, said: “It absolutely should be a target.” Penn was promoting his movie All The King’s Men at the Toronto Film Festival. He is giving ammunition to critics who say that the ban on smoking indoors doesn’t seem to apply to the rich and famous.
