Peoplespeak : Giving soulful expressions to our feelings
I am very interested in music. Frankly speaking, I do not know how to sing, but when I get a guitar in my hands, songs automatically start to flow from my mouth. It gives me great pleasure whenever I am connected with music, whether I am listening to music or others are listening to my music. Music refreshes me from boredom, tension and also helps me improve my concentration power. Music is a form of art, which is like a dart that directly touches one’s heart.
— Upen Kumar Sharma, Koteshwor
The word art itself is fabulous and it helps to unveil one’s hidden talent. I think poetry is the best way of expressing one’s feelings like joy or sadness. Poetry has a magnificent power that attracts an audience, and willingly or unwillingly it makes the audience eyes cloudy with tears or brings smiles to their faces. Poetry can be taken as a magnificent power or a breakthrough moment but ultimately it has only one goal, that is to express one’s feelings.
— Tekendra Pant
If I were given a choice, I would choose painting to express myself because I believe painting is the most powerful form of art. You can let your emotions flow to an infinite extent through painting. You may not always find words to express your feelings. It is not so in case of painting. You can always find colours to express your emotions. Through painting, you can release your spirit to such an extent that your emotions flow freely without any resistance.
— Subodh Kumar Bidari, Syuchatar
Among the different forms of art, I would prefer music to express my feelings. Music is an art which can be felt and understood by anyone from deep inside their hearts. Melody, harmony, tune makes people cry, laugh throw their burden aside and enjoy each moment of it. We can sing, dance and be nostalgic. We can even enjoy the music of a different language. Music can express love, anger, joy and sorrow. Whenever I feel drained, I listen to music.

Poetry has style and beauty flowing all over concrete words. Paintings impress the eye, music soothes the ear and poetry leaves imprints on the soul. All art is beautiful though I regard poetry as something classier because of its relation with literature, thinkers and philosophers. Poetry is about how the mind works. Not only that, it is how a person perceives and, I believe, writing poetry means putting yourself entirely into it. Thousands of meanings lying behind a single word, leading to countless more. Poetry can be vaster than one’s imagination. Moreover, even though it can be true or imaginary, anyone can be a poet, if he lets his feelings and emotions flow freely, his thoughts and ideas come truthfully.

If I were to choose one among the many options in the question, I would choose none. Rather I would pray to God to help me discover one methodology that could lead me to express my feelings to the blind, deaf and the voiceless at the same time. I would figure out a method of expression that would be visible to the blind, heard by the deaf and spoken by the voiceless, all placed together at one single moment.
— Kiran Limbu Phudong, Virginia, US
I prefer writing because it is an easy and common art of expressing one’s feelings. I write to ease pain as well as to express my feelings. According to me, Pervez Musharraf’s In the Line of Fire is a good example of this kind of art.
— Anil KC
If I were given a choice to choose one kind of art, I would definitely choose music because nowadays people don’t have time to read. People are very busy and in a disturbed state. They need a peaceful environment and entertainment too which can be provided through music. Music can reach the mass at a time and it can be broadcast by mediums such as radio, television, Internet, even cell phones. The main thing is that music is popular in different age groups in different parts of the world, and it is affordable to everyone rich and poor alike.

Realities of life, pain of humans, joys of mankind — for me all this can be demonstrated on a stage. The stage which consists of no financial hoardings and narrow thinking regarding personal benefits will be the perfect place where I would like to express my feelings. I would love to be a stage artiste as I think this is the best form of art. I believe that a perfect show will create a huge impact on the thinking of people than other forms of art. If great plays are all staged with genuine artistes, it will surely bring about a change in people’s character and change their behaviour and attitude towards their family, society, country, world and most importantly themselves.

‘Writing’ being one of the best forms of art used in expressing magnificent ideas, thoughts and feelings would be my first choice. It is not only the simplest form but also a solid way to express feelings. There is no need of fulfilling any formats in writing, you can write whatever comes to your mind in any way you like but the only thing required is that it should touch the heart of readers. We can use stream of consciousness in our writings.

Colour is one of the symbolic presentations of someone’s state of mind on any subject matter. Painting is not only what we generally see on the surfacial level, but the shape of a particular part, type of colour used and overall combinations of the subject matter are the true feelings of an artist, if he is not making it for commercial benefits. So, the best representation of some artwork for me would be painting.
— Somraj Shahi, Thamel
I think music is the most effective form of art to express ones feelings. Music is a mode of human expression that reflects the ingenuity of mankind. It is an ever changing art form that has found its place among the serious as well as comic. For some it conforms to certain rules, and for others it is free of any form. It can be intellectual and at the same time, simple and entertaining. Always eliciting emotions from its audience, music isn’t simply a form of communication, it is a medium of persuasion. It has the power to transform a dull and boring ceremony into a sublime and pious experience. Music is able to evoke feelings because it allows the viewer to suspend reality and become absorbed to it.
— Pujan Maharjan,
Lubhoo
For me painting is the most effective way to express our feelings. Among the different forms of art, I’d choose painting. Being a peace loving person I feel a sense of happiness while painting. If we have a good understanding power then a single painting can describe many things which a book with 100 pages rarely can. Painting develops our concentration. Unlike other forms of art our actual feelings can be expressed through it in an easy way.

We can say that music is the universal language of mankind. Whether it is happiness, sorrow, anxiety, surprise or any other feeling, for me music is the most beautiful, effective and artistic way of expressing one’s feelings. Being a music lover, I believe that despite its origin and language, music doesn’t have any class or level. One can easily get to know other’s feelings through music. Music is the one and only art which binds one in love and relationships. It is the purest form of art which carries lots of emotions and intensity.
— Ansu Aryal
If I were given a choice to choose any one form of art to express my feelings, I would definitely opt for music. I believe that music was first invented to express one’s feelings to God. I feel that even today music is the only artistic form which can express feelings to others. This is because when we sing, we don’t actually sing just the words but we can also put our feelings and expressions into it, making it lively which can touch the hearts of the audience.
— Krisha Amatya
Poetry is what I feel
is the most influential
form of art to express our feelings. I staunchly believe that this form of
art comfortably surpasses all the other forms as far
as expression of feelings
is concerned. Keats, the legendary romantic poet, has always fascinated
me. It is said that he would have easily taken the
coveted berth occupied
by Shakespeare had he lived a bit longer. And, I agree to each word and every sense of what has been said about the
greatness of this genius, who breathed his last at a tender age of 25. As poetry is my choice, Wordsworth’s ‘spontaneous overflow
of powerful feelings
recollected in tranquillity’ has a lot to do to persuade others in believing
why this form of art is comparatively outstanding. Words, which truly represent our feelings, come out straight from our heart in a ‘true’ poem. What else on earth can be truer than this? Can anything else under the sun match its sanctity? Keats said, ‘A thing of beauty is joy forever.’ Without an ounce of hesitation, I say, ‘No other form of art is of paramount significance than poetry.’

I would choose painting as I really love to paint. It gives me a feeling of happiness and relaxation. Painting is all about imagination where we can
see the beautiful world
and get involved in it. We can spray the colours of our life on a plain piece paper. So, I think painting is the best from to express one’s feelings.
— Roshina Thapa
I find writing very comfortable and the best way to express my feelings. While writing, feelings emanate from the core of my heart and spill over in the forms of words. Something that comes from the heart can have a greater impact on others than what comes from the surface — this is what I believe in. So, I choose writing as it is the best way to express myself.
— Ambika Pandey,
Chitwan
Writing helps me express my feelings. When we write something, it can also be read even many years later which would give us completely a different perspective. Words have power and my thoughts and feelings could be expressed well and effectively through writing.

I prefer to select music as a form of art to express my feelings. The feelings which cannot be expressed directly can be expressed via music. Music is the epic which contains the different spices of life. It makes people die and it makes people alive. It is the beautiful expression which conveys the message as well as social and cultural values.
— Aaratee Lamsal, Tinthana, Naikap
I prefer writing as it’s very convenient and less time consuming than any other form. Not only can we write our views on a certain topic for publication, but also whenever we have something bothering us and can’t tell it to anyone, then we can express those feelings by writing it in a diary. Whenever we are in stressful situations, our mind will not be able to search for suitable words to make a poem, nor can we use our imagination to create a painting, we cannot prepare for acting and so on, but we can write. Whatever the words may be, it really works. So, if I am given a choice, I would go for writing, as I am doing now.
