Pfeiffer’s blind date

LONDON:

Michelle Pfeiffer tried to set her husband David E Kelley up with her sister when she first met him.

The actress has confessed it was not love at first sight when she was introduced to the Ally McBeal creator — whom she married in 1993 — on a group blind date, because he spent most of the evening speaking to her sister.

She said, “It wasn’t instant love with David. We met on a blind date with a group of other people. We didn’t really speak to each other that night. He talked to my sister and I talked to his friend. He and my sister seemed to be hitting it off so I thought maybe we should set them up instead. But the friend said, ‘Don’t you dare.’ “

Pfeiffer says they hit it off when they finally got some time alone together. She is quoted by Daily Express newspaper as saying, “We finally had a date where it was just the two of us, and here we are.” She is shooting Chasing Montana, a comedy drama Kelley wrote specifically for her.
