KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday conferred the National Film Awards in eight categories on artistes showing exemplary performances. At a special ceremony held at Shital Niwas by National Film Development Board, senior artiste Nir Bikram Shah, with a long history of contribution to the Nepali film industry, was conferred Chalchitra Dirgha Sadhana honour with a cash prize of Rs 351,011.President Yadav conferred the Best Film Award to Kabbadi while giving the Best Director award to Nischal Basnet, who directed Talakjung vs Tulke. The best actor award went to Dayahang Rai for his role in Abhineta, while Richa Sharma and Sangam Bista shared best actress award for their performance in Love You Baba. Kabbadi's Upendra Subba and Ram Babu Gurung were awarded for best script writing, while editing and cinematography awards went to Nimesh Shrestha and Shailendradwoj Karki of Zhigrana, respectively.
