relationships : Love story

Nissen Dangol

Kathmandu :

It was a just week before this Valentine’s day that I first met her. She looked like a queen from the Himalayas but was really from Kalimpong, Darjeeling. She was here on vacation and it was just my luck that she was living in the house that faced mine.

I did not know this really because I had to go to college. It was only when my vacation began that I saw her. And the moment I saw her I knew I was in love. It was love at first sight.

I wanted to talk to her and I thought she wanted to talk to me too but we did not have the courage. A week before Valentine’s Day, I talked to her. To my delight, I found that was a very nice person. This meant that my love could only grow.

We would meet every day and talk about things of varying topics always avoiding love. One day, she told me that she had to go away for further studies and it only then that I realised how deeply I had fallen for her. My eyes filled with tears even at the thought of her leaving.

She told me that she loved me but hadn’t been able to tell me before. On Valentine’s Day, I gave her a ring as a token of my love that she may always feel that I was near her.

I know she had to go back but we were unable to bid each other good bye. At the airport, the tears refused to cease. We were crying all the time though we tried not to. Now, all we have left for communication is email and letters. We had finally found love and we were happy. Love happens and we are happy. We know that ours will become a great love story.
