Relationships : She’s the best!

Vatsala Shah

Kathmandu:

It was she who gifted me to this world. She brought me up giving me a simple yet strict upbringing and taught me how to face the world in a bold and humble manner. I have known her for the past sixteen years of my life and she has been the most important woman of my life since then. The positive vibes she radiates are infectious. The confidence and energy she exudes is inspiring and her straightforward approach towards life is exemplary. She is a bundle of love, care and affection and I love the way she still mollycoddles me. This affable, loving and understanding person is no other than my adorable Mamu. Mamu is the person whom I can really open up with and speak my heart out. Hugh Elliot once said “What everyone wants is to be heard,” which, of course, is true and the same implies for me, too. Mamu is a very good listener. She can listen to me for hours, no matter how irrational I might sound but never does she seem to be losing her patience. There are times when I ponder how she can be so tolerant. She is apparently the most wanted person at my home. From taking care of each family member to every household responsibility, she always seems to be enjoying her busy schedule. Never once has she ever complained about anything. Whether it be working in the kitchen to attending parties and entertaining guests, she does each piece of work flawlessly. And who would not want to be loved and mollycoddled by her? Even my dog, Casper, seems to be seeking her attention all the time.

Mamu has been my best friend for all these years. She is the one who withstands all my tantrums and is never tired of explaining things to me. I cannot imagine living without her for she is my better three fourth. She is my mentor, my role model and, of course, my idol. She is the source of my inspiration and her soothing voice is enough to rekindle the beam of happiness and confidence within me. Her encouragement acts as the propelling force that always pushes me ahead in life. She has taught me how to face challenges and fight against the vicissitudes of life. There is one thing which I am sure of — no matter what she will always be there behind me like a pillar, supporting me and providing me with all the love and determination. Mamu, thank you very much for everything. You are the best. I Love You Mamu, I Really Do!
