KATHMANDU: Singer Bale’s self-titled album Bale was launched at Nepal Tourism Board on January 4 by veterans of the music industry Prem Dhoj Pradhan and Om Bikram Bista.
The album comprises 11 songs, and the lyrics and music have been arranged by the singer himself. After living in America for 16 years, Bale’s album showcases his feelings for his motherland. “An experimental album with a unique touch to it” is how Bale defines his first solo album. His songs are a fusion of Nepali and Western music. Even the language used has a touch of the local dialect lending a touch of originality. Famous Nepali actress Gauri Malla has also lent her voice to one of the compositions. The music arrangement has been done by Joogle Dongol. A sum of Rs 7 from each album sold will be donated to victims of Jana Andolan 2. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Music Nepal recently released the album Shabda, which consi-sts of 10 songs by various artistes. The lyrics have been penned by Dinesh Adhikari, who has written lyrics for other albums like Yatra and Anubhuti. Numbers like Bola Bola Pakha Haru and Birano Man were created by the lyricist. Veteran singers and musicians like Karna Das, Ram Krishna Dhakal, Deep Shrestha, Kunti Moktan, Sambhujeet Baskota and others have worked with him in this album. — HNS
