With the development of human civilisation, many things and devices have been invented. One such invention is the computer or the Commonly Operated Machine Particularly Used for Training, Education and Research. It has become the most popular thing in the world. There are very less people who are not familiar with the term ‘computer’.

Calculation has played a vital role in our lives. Our lives are dependent upon calculations. This is the reason why computers were invented. Starting from Abacus, Analytical engine and Mark 1, all have equal contribution in the invention of the modern computer.

Perhaps there is no harm in saying that ‘computers’ have become humans’ best friend. Computer is a versatile machine and has contributed a lot in every field a person has desired to work. Banking, education sector, research, trade and commerce, multimedia are some of the fields in which computers have helped us to move forward at a good pace.

We shouldn’t also forget that criminal and destructive activities like wars, robbery, hacking, cracking others’ account are also done through computers.

It is said that ‘world is dependent upon a click’. The whole world can be destroyed in a few seconds if a powerful country releases its all hydrogen and nuclear bombs, and this is all dependent upon computers and ‘a click’. A person sitting in a chair can visit the whole world in a few seconds through computer and the same person can destroy whole world sitting in same chair in no time.

Is this only the achievement of humans through computers? Is this only reason why computers were invented and are being invented? Is this the only reason why computers are popular in this hi-tech world? No, obviously not. There are many other benefits of a computer. But it depends upon us, how we use computers.
